This event is held monthly at Bushey and Oxhey Methodist Church in King Edward Road, Oxhey. Anyone can come to Messy Church if they bring a parent or guardian with them. We start with games and finish with a short act of child-friendly worship and a meal to which all are invited. Everyone is welcome.
This is a simplified service aimed at encouraging younger members of the congregation to take part in the whole service. When we have a vicar available this service includes the important element of Eucharist which at the moment is bread only due to the Coronavirus. Our teenage members (St Matthew's Amazing Youth Team or SMAYT for short) take a prominent (supervised) role in this including acting as sidespeople (the ones who greet you when you arrive and give you your books), reading, leading intercessions (prayers) and taking the collection.

Every First, Second, Third, Fifth Sunday at 9:30 a.m. for 1hr
Our regular Sunday morning services will resume on 14th March, Mothering Sunday and is open to all. As we do not currently have a resident vicar, our services will only be a Eucharist (communion) service when a visiting priest is available. Under the current restrictions the Eucharist will be in one kind (bread only), there will be no singing but we will have organ music. When no visiting priest is available there will be a simple Morning Prayer conducted by one or other of the churchwardens. We use a traditional form of worship which is open to all ages. Sunday School is on-line at the moment, please email [email protected] for details of how to join. Children are always welcome at our services; the toys in our children's play area have been removed during the current situation to prevent cross-infections but the area is still available and children may bring a toy or book with them.
