Fair Trade Fortnight is over but the need for fairer trade continues

Community_news

Nearly 2 million farmers are members of the Fairtrade system and receive fair prices for their produce. Their co-operatives receive the Fairtrade Premium to help improve production methods, go organic, build better storage and improve infrastructure around their villages.

But too many farmers are ripped off, exploited by large multinational buyers who pay very low prices and are only interested in shareholder profits.

The Fairtrade system lifts members out of poverty and provides health-care, education and sustainability.

Remember your neighbours! Please support the poorest farmers of our work through our FairTrade stall in Christ Church. You can buy Fair Trade goods in the supermarket - just look for the Fairtrade mark when shopping!
