About Us

St Nicholas' is the original Parish Church of Harpenden - home to a thriving all-age church community drawn from across the town.  The oldest part of the building dates back 800 years; most of the current building is Victorian with a good set of bells in our tower (rung every week!) and an excellent organ and choir.

The Church sits in a beautiful tranquil churchyard, which is open at all times and includes a memorial garden behind the main building.  From here you can also access the Parish Office. A few yards from the church is the Church Hall, including Cornelia's - a Coffee Shop open to all on several mornings during the week, serving FairTrade coffee, home-made cake and snacks.
