Christmas is a season of joy, but also of truth. On Sunday 28th December, our Benefice gathers for a service of Holy Communion remembering the Holy Innocents — the children of Bethlehem, and all children who suffer injustice today. Together we will hold them before God’s love in prayer and worship.
This service replaces the usual "First Sunday" Benefice Service, so there will be no other services in the Benefice that day. Our normal pattern of worship resumes on Sunday 4th January.

St Leonard's, Old Warden

The Church of St Leonards is steeped in history, and is famous for its intricate carvings. But it is still a living Church where God is worshipped without fuss week by week. After a long closure for refurbishment, the church is now open for public worship again and  we look forward to welcoming people to our simple 8.45 a.m. Sunday service. It takes place every week apart from once a month, usually on the first Sunday of each month, when we have a shared service with our sister Churches, St Mary the Virgin, Northill or All Saint's Caldecote.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Old Warden is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of St. Albans’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor Jez Hurst on 01727 818 107 or 07867 350 886 or via email [email protected] . Alternatively, if it's something local to this church, contact our Benefice Safeguarding Officer, Mrs Victoria Moir, on 07354 630807.
If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please don't wait - contact the police and/or your local authority’s children or adult social care service
