Occurring
for 2 hours, 30 mins
Venue
Wilkinson Church Hall
Address
Church Square Toddington, LU5 6AA, United Kingdom

Seder Meal being held on Maundy Thursday is an interactive service set around the food table.
The service begins with the text explaining the Passover when the Hebrews, being led by Moses (and God) escaped from Egypt and touches on the significance of the traditional Jewish food items.
The service continues with a shared meal of roast lamb, cous-cous, ratatouille, pitta bread, fruit & cheese.
After the meal has been cleared away the liturgy continues through the Last Supper with a shared washing of hands (not feet!) and a communion.
After the Communion we move to church for the stripping of the Altar whilst listening in silence to Psalms and the Passion Gospel in full.
At around 9:00pm the evening comes to a close with a short service of Compline (night prayer in a traditional language) lasting around 15 minutes - the congregation then leave when they are ready in quietness.

Welcome to St George of England Church, a beautiful church of over 800 years, which is open daily during daylight hours if you would like to pop in for a time of quiet and prayer.  On Sunday at  11am we hold a regular Common Worship Holy Communion Service, followed by refreshments in the Hall, and on Monday a Morning Prayer Service at 9.30am.  You will be assured of a warm welcome to the services, or to any of the other regular events during the week which are held in Wilkinson Hall, the nearby church hall.  We look forward to meeting you.

Our new Rector, Ian Smith, was installed on 27th Oct 2025.
