Whipsnade Village lunch is run by volunteers, who very generously donate the profit made to our church . It is run in a new format and is hopefully more sustainable for the volunteers and is held every 4 weeks on a Wednesday afternoon at Whipsnade village hall from 12.30pm. They offer a light hot lunch, cakes, tea and coffee for £7.00. There is also a raffle. The dates for the lunch are in the Parish Link magazine and also in the Church.

St Mary Magdalene

Welcome to St Mary Magdalene. Our beautiful church and its grounds are in the small country village of Whipsnade and stand back from the Green often unnoticed by visitors to the famous Zoo. It is a landmark in the village and the surrounding countryside and stands some 700 feet above sea level. There has been a church here since Anglo Saxon times; the present building was started in the 16th century.

We hold a service every Sunday at 9am and welcome visitors along with our regular congregation.

First Sunday: Holy Communion (Traditional)

Second Sunday: Holy Communion (Modern) with Sunday School

Third Sunday: Family Service

Fourth Sunday: Holy Communion (Traditional)

We always serve coffee after the service and there is a friendly social atmosphere.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Whipsnade is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops’ guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Office (PSO) Our Diocese of St Albans safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm, please contact our PSO Mr Mike Bailey at [email protected] If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority's children or adult social care services.
