Join us at 6:30pm on Tuesday 6 May 2025 for an inspiring and atmospheric evening dedicated to the art of creative writing – with a special focus on crime fiction.

We are thrilled to welcome crime writer Bettina von Cossel,who’ll be spilling secrets, dropping clues, and will maybe even inspire your next killer story.

Whether you’re a seasoned writer, a curious beginner, or just love a good whodunnit,this event promises to entertain and inspire you.

This talk will be followed by four Creative Writing Workshops also led by Bettina, on 13, 27 May and 10, 24 June at 6:30pm.

There is a recommended donation for each of these events of just £5.

We are launching a new youth choir at St Mary's, East Barnet.

Children at key stage 2 and 3 who would like to attend the youth choir will be introduced to a rich and enoyable curriculum there, including
reading music
voice coaching
a wide variety of settings and anthems

The youth choir will rehearse in term time at Brookside Methodist Church on Wednesdays from 4-5pm. The youth choir will also prepare for performances at concerts and special services, including at our carol services where they will be working alongside an orchestra of professional musicians.

The Church Choir rehearse in term time at St Mary's Church on Wednesdays from 7-8pm. The choir leads services and will also prepare for performances at concerts and special services, including at our carol services where they will be working alongside an orchestra of professional musicians.

Sewing - knitting - crochet - refreshments and conversation

Barnet Collective and St Mary's, East Barnet, are working together. St Mary's hosts a food redistribution hub to pack food for delivery to the local community.

Share a glass of wine and a pudding, and talk about sharing our faith by inviting our friends, neighbours, family and others to be part of our church community.

Prayer for St Mary’s meets every Friday at 3pm in St Mary’s community halls.

Everyone is very welcome to come along and share in an informal time of prayer.

During the Covid-19 outbreak, St Mary's, East Barnet, will now be open for personal prayer and reflection.
