We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported this joyful and creative event. To all our Christmas Tree entries from across our community who created such wonderful eye-catching creations. Seeing was believing.Over the weekend our visitors had the opportunity to vote for their favourite 3 trees in our ‘Peoples Choice Vote’, many found this difficult to choose but we did have 3 winning Christmas Trees.1st Buntingford Gardening Club, A beautiful creation of handmade wreaths with seasonal foliage displayed to make a Christmas tree shape. The attention to detail with handmade creatures we would find in our gardens, watering cans made to look like they were watering the foliage, a scarecrow sitting on top taking watch over this wonderful creation.2nd Little Lambs of Westmill Church with their ‘While Shepherds Watch their 'Little Lambs' by Night.’ As the children and adults gather weekly every Wednesday at St Mary the Virgin Church, one activity they had been working on was creating some beautiful sheep to make everyone just smile with joy.3rd Lil Foster and her 'Food Glorious Food' tree beautifully decorated with hand knitted foods from fruit & veg to burgers & cakes and so on. The attention to detail and hand crafted work is outstanding.Listed below are all those who submitted a tree and we thank you all for the time, effort, imagination and creativity every Tree a master piece. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the annual Lights of Love ceremony, held in outside the Manor House with Buntingford Town Council and Isabel Hospice. The choir of Edwinstree Middle School led us in the singing too.As the evening progressed, the High Street was buzzing with many stalls and shops. Thank you to the team at St Peter's Church for the stall selling cakes, bottle tombola and Guess the Name of the Reindeer amongst other things. We had a super night..
On Saturday 13th September, Sue and Trina got on their bikes and Paul and Kirsty donned their walking boots to set off on the Beds & Herts Historic Churches Bike 'n Hike. It was a day of extremely mixed weather but that did not deter us. Sue and Trina, on behalf of St Mary the Virgin, Westmill, rode around the countryside until Sue's bike could go no further. Paul and Kirsty, on behalf of St Mary's, Aspenden and St Peter's, Buntingford walked 12 miles and visited 8 churches. We were very grateful to the churches who provided loo stops, and drinks and cakes. Thank you to everyone who sponsored this event. The funds are shared equally between the named chosen church and Beds & Herts Historic Churches Trust.
