Since May St Peter’s has been undergoing a significant amount of restoration work to address areas of long-term damp to the entrance hall, toilet, benefice office, and internal walls. This has been the biggest project undertaken by St Peter’s in more than 40 years.
The exterior parapet wall was rebuilt which ensured a new damp-proof course replaced the old and leaking one. Internally, the walls have been renewed using the correct lime render and redecorated. The church has new electrics and light fittings and the parquet floor been sanded and repolished.
We are immensely grateful to everyone who contributed to this project both financially and with their time and effort.
In these next couple of weeks before Christmas, the building team are doing the final finishes. Though we aren't resting on our laurels, there are some further projects in the pipeline too!
We are delighted with how the church looks and we'd love to see you at any of the services over the Christmas period. Come along and see what's been happening.
