A Special Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance

for 1 hour
St John's Church, Lemsford
Brocket Road Lemsford Welwyn Hatfield, AL8 7TT, United Kingdom

You are warmly invited to our Autumn Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance on Sunday 25th October at 4pm.  As the weather is likely to be becoming a bit wintery by the end of the month, we’ll be gathering in church.

This short, reflective service is open to everyone. It offers space to pause, to give thanks, and to remember the lives of those we have loved and lost—whether recently or many years ago. You don’t need to be a churchgoer, or have a family member buried in our churchyard or Garden of Remembrance; the service is simply a gentle way of honouring love, loss, and memory together as a community.

Afterwards, you’re warmly invited to stay for tea and delicious cake.

St John's Church, Lemsford

Welcome to our Church.

We are situated in the village of Lemsford, which is situated between Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield, adjacent to Brocket Hall. Our beautiful church has served the parish for over 150 years. We are a warm, welcoming and friendly church and seek to share the love of God in all that we do.

Whether you would like to join us for worship, or are thinking about having a special event here, such as a wedding or baptism, we would be delighted to see you at one of our services or social events for a chat. Otherwise please feel free to contact us by email.

The parish of Lemsford is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of St.Albans's safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advises our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm, please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
