Join us at St Mary the Virgin, St Margarets every Wednesday at 12 noon. Our new programme alternates each week between Holy Communion and a Midday Prayer Service. Both offer a midweek opportunity to come together and worship.
We have partnered with Coffee and Coping Hertfordshire to support their new group: Hope in Action. This group concentrates on addiction in all forms, for concerned family members as well as addicts. It runs on Wednesdays, 5–6.30pm in St Mary’s Church, St Margarets. No booking required – just drop in!
Why not try Teddy Club at The Wilshere Hall? Every Thursday, 9–11am (term time). For children up to three years old. £1 suggested donation. Fun activities, stories, singing and much more!

Start and end your week with a short, 30-minute prayer service from the comfort of your own home. A twice-weekly online Morning Prayer service for anyone to join.
There are two Care Homes (Willowthorpe and Belmont View) in our Benefice and we visit each of them regularly once a month.
The service is designed to be accessible to everyone including those residents who have memory problems, and we welcome people from all Christian denominations.
We sing and pray together, listen to a Bible reading and enjoy having church. We have at least four hymns, chosen to reflect the church seasons and celebrations, and to engage with the long term memories of residents. We offer Communion or a Blessing at the end of the service and respect the choice and traditions of everyone who comes.
Archdeacon Janet is pleased to announce that, following the expiry of the Suspension of the Patron’s right of Presentation and following consultation with the Patrons, PCCs and the Rev’d Dr Sarah Forrest as the current priest-in-charge, Rev’d Sarah has been appointed Vicar of the Benefice. She will be Instituted by Bishop Jane, and Inducted and Installed by the Archdeacon on Saturday 22 March 2025 at 5pm in St Andrew’s Church, Stanstead Abbots. Please continue to pray for Sarah and the family.

Every last Saturday of the month, we hold a Benefice Breakfast at The Wilshere Hall, which is open to everyone. It's the perfect combination of conversation, enthusiastic debate and a full English breakfast!
