For January 2026 we'll be running the Bible Course alongside The Bible Course at Franklyn Road. The participants from each course will gather and share a meal together each week before splitting off for their session. What a great way to meet people at different stages of the most exciting journey!
Alpha has provided over 1.5 million people in the UK alone (29m worldwide) with an opportunity to explore different aspects of the Christian faith and to discuss their questions in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.
Dinner and conversation is integral to the format of the Alpha course, to meet people and open up conversation.
For more encouragement, interviews and information, see alpha.org.uk or find it on YouTube.
Who is it for? Lots of people can enjoy and benefit from coming to Alpha…
If you are new to the Christian faith or just starting to 'dip your toe in'
If your friends or family ask you about what you believe and you're never really sure what to tell them
If you've been a Christian for a long while but have never felt you could ask questions about your faith
If you're fairly new to church and want to get to know some more people
…then Alpha is for you!
No questions are off limits and no assumptions are made.
How do I find out about the next course? To register your interest, please sign up.
The course begins with a 'no obligation' introductory session led by Lesley Mason, one of the Godalming Minster clergy team. During the evening there will be an opportunity to chat with those who have previously done Alpha.
There is no charge to join us at Alpha and all are welcome to come along and find out a bit more. If you have questions or would like to join the mailing list for any future courses, please email [email protected].
To sign up for the introductory sessions on Thu 22nd Jan 2026. We may also look for a daytime course if theres enough demand, so please let us know if youre interested even if you cant make a Thursday night. Fill in the form below and someone from our Alpha team will get in touch with you.
If you are interested in Alpha but this day/time don't work for you, please register your interest, and tell us what days/times would work. We'll be in touch.
Whether you're well versed in Scripture or just starting out on the journey, The Bible Course offers a superb overview of the world's best-selling book.

The 8 session Bible Course is a brilliant way to bring the Bible to life and understand the whole storyline— from Genesis to Revelation. Along the way you will pick up tools and skills to help you read it yourself and apply it to your life.
Though The Bible Course was written for beginners in an extremely accessible in style, it will still challenge the experienced bible reader and help anyone rediscover the bible afresh.
At Godalming Minster we'd encourage everyone to do the course, from those who are following on from Alpha, to mature Christians wanting to consolidate their knowledge and understanding of the Bible.
If you are already in a small group, please join the course to spread your knowledge and enthusiasm for scripture with others, and refresh their own understanding.
There's a lot more information about The Bible Course and what to expect on biblesociety.org.uk.
