PRAYING FOR PRISONERS WEEK 12th-18th October.Kate, a member of our congregation here at St Mary's is a volunteer with the Prison chaplaincy team at HMP Send, which is a women's prison. The week mentioned above coming up is Prisoners' week.During this week, we are asked to think about and pray for the families of those who suffer because a loved one is in prison.Examples of those suffering could be Children, partners, grandparents and siblings. We are also asked to remember those who are involved in the justice system.....prison officers, chaplains, the probation service and all those supporting the prisoners' day to day.Christmas is a particularly difficult time, especially for children whose parents are in prison. The Angel Tree initiative is an opportunity to bring a little joy to them at this special time. It is a way of ensuring that each child receives a gift at Christmas. If you would like to contribute to this, there are leaflets at the back of the church. Kate is always happy to speak to anyone interested in more information and can be contacted via [email protected] thanks
