John Carr (1829-1885) was a stockbroker who lived with his extensive family in Rusham House, at the bottom of Prune Hill. His memorial is a broken column close to St Jude's, and nearby are graves of the Farlow and Notley families who intermarried with the Carrs - Notley End (off Corby Drive) also remembers the Notleys.
