Ascension Day Hike

Occurring
for 4 hours
Venue
St Catherine's
Address
Katherinenplatz 5 Stuttgart, 70812, Germany

Meet at the U-Bahn stop (U14) Südheimer Platz at 10am, leave about 10.15am once we have everyone gathered.

After our lovely walk on Ascension day last year, we decided we would like to repeat it and do something similar this year! We will again be climbing up and marking Ascension Day at the top of the hill!

Walk up to the Birkenkopf as last year but from here it takes about 1 hour. It isn’t far but it is uphill so best you bring a drink! We can take it slowly and enjoy each other’s company, no hurry! In some places the path is narrow, it is not always a wide, concrete pavement so please wear appropriate shoes!
At the top we will have some prayers / thoughts for Ascension Day – lead by Bishop Antonio.
We will then walk on to the Waldheim Heslach, around another hour, but downhill this time! We will probably arrive around 12.30-1pm. The Waldheim has a nice Biergarten, so participants can then depart for home or stay and have some lunch / refreshments together.
The website for the Waldheim is on the file AcensionDayHike2025. Departures can be made by bus (No. 82, 3x hour) or by walking 15 minutes down the hill to the U14 tram (every 10 minutes)
We look forward to seeing lots of you and hopefully some nice weather!
Jackie & Rainer
