Our current locum chaplain - Archdeacon Matt Johnson

Starting this coming Sunday, 8th March, please welcome to St. John’s the Rev. Matt Johnson, a U.S. Episcopal priest currently living in Germany, returns to us after serving as Locum at St. John’s for several months early in the interregnum. Before moving to Germany, where he works teaching English to Ukrainian refugee students and as a locum priest in the Diocese in Europe, Matt served both large and small congregations in the U.S., helping to deepen formation, strengthen outreach, and build resilient leadership structures. Alongside parish ministry, he has taught English and history, coached track and field, written and lectured on liturgy and theology, and remained active as a church musician. He is the father of two daughters and the devoted owner of a Labrador, and he enjoys running and the outdoors.

Ven Matt Johnson
