Our journey through Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday as we gather at The Guildhall at 10.15 to remember the events of that first Palm Sunday, when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey while the people shouted ‘Hosanna’ and spread cloaks and palm leaves on the ground before him. We then follow the donkeys down to the church, where our service continues. On Maundy Thursday we remember the events of the Last Supper and the Passion in a quiet, reflective Communion service in the church hall at 7.30pm. On Good Friday we have a quiet and creative service of meditation on the Cross of Jesus at 10.30am, with Hot Cross Buns afterwards in the church hall. Easter Day starts early with a Sunrise Service at 6.30am at Christ Cross, Silverton and then we're back at St Disen's Church for a celebratory service to mark the day of resurrection, with communion, an Easter Egg hunt and more, followed by refreshments in the church hall. Please see our Services & Events page for more information.
