About Us

St Andrews is a beautiful Victorian village church. We are a small but welcoming community in the East Devon countryside serving the village of Chardstock and surrounding hamlets. We are part of the Axe Valley Mission Community. We usually  have three services a month in the church; 2 Eucharists (second and fourth Sundays) and a Book of Common Prayer sung Evensong on the third Sunday. We have a very popular monthly coffee morning (third Tuesday in the month) and a well-used community bookstall. Our church is open daily from approx 9am till dusk and is generally available for quiet prayer and contemplation. The church itself is popular for weddings and is used for occasional concerts and as a hub for some village events. We strive to be an inclusive church, we are able to provide wheelchair access - and have an accessible flush toilet. We can provide gluten free wafers and large print hymn books.
