As Jesus gathered with his dearest friends and followers in the upper room, on the night before he was handed over and crucified, the shared meal and symbolic acts which he left them, and us, became a gift which unites us, challenges us, comforts us, and strengthens us. On Maundy Thursday, in a calm reflective act of worship, we recall in Communion that deeply moving fellowship meal, and our Lord’s powerful command to love one another.

The parish of Ide: St Ida is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Exeter’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

Following the end of Lockdown, the Church is open for worship at our normal times. You are encouraged to attend, and act with suitable caution in light of the continuing presence of the coronavirus in our communities.
