Our Mission Community consists of St. Mary's Church in Bideford and the 4 villages of Landcross, Littleham, Monkleigh and Weare Giffard. Services are held throughout the month with the exception of St. Georges Church in Monkleigh which is now a Festival Church and has services on Easter Sunday, a Harvest Festival, on Remembrance Sunday and at Christmas. The church also holds services and events for Monkleigh School. The church welcomes all for Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals. Our Team Vicar is Rev. Ruth Beckett who is our 4th woman minister and Ruth works in the villages and in Bideford. In the 4 villages we hold a range of services and after the services we enjoy spending time together with refreshments. We love welcoming new people into our services and we would be delighted to meet you or if you would rather just come for the refreshments then you are very welcome to join us after the service. There are Prayer trees in either the churches or their porch for anyone to use. Just attach a prayer for a situation that you would like others to pray for. Sometimes we can’t find words – and so there are also ribbons to tie on. In the current world situation, there is a suggested Prayer for Peace. The prayers will be offered at our church services. Evensong is held throughout the year on a rotational basis (please check calendar). You are very welcome to visit our churches, Weare Giffard is open daily throughout the year from 10am to 4pm, Littleham is open from April to October during the day and Landcross and Monkleigh are occasionally open. Each of the churches have a living history with special atmospheres and we consider our churches to be a gift to the nation so please do come and enjoy them.
