Dear Friends,

In this week when we listen to Jesus sending out his disciples to share his ministry, please keep Marilyn Sanders, who was with us through her training, in your prayers. Marilyn was licensed for ministry in Culloumpton on Thursday and this will be the first official Sunday of her curacy. She will be a blessing to those she serves.

This Sunday we have a very full pattern of services across the Mission Community:

9am Parracombe Holy Communion

11am Lynton Holy Communion

3pm Barbrook Holy Communion

8.30 Countisbury Epilogue (the first of this year’s season)

Growing in Prayer: what I am preaching on in this weekend’s sermon lends itself to a particular form of prayer that I have spoken of regularly - the Ignatian Examen - which helps us reflect on God’s presence in our daily life and if used over time, also gets us into the habit of noticing God’s life giving gifts as we experience them through our day. If it is not something you have tried before you might like to, or this might be a reminder to revisit it. I’ll attach the guidance, but you can find guided versions of this prayer on the website Pray as you go: https://pray-as-you-go.org/article/examen-prayer and a lovely introduction to it in a book called Sleeping with Bread: Holding What Gives You Life which also helps with praying through where God is calling us to the joyful sharing of love in the world.

Next week’s services :

9am Martinhoe Holy Communion

11am Lynton Holy Communion

8.30 Countisbury Epilogue

God bless

Samantha
