St Francis, Heartsease

A church at the heart of the community with the community at its heart - all are welcome here.

Based on Rider Haggard Road, the church building is just a short walk from both Heartsease Primary Academy and Open Academy.

We are told that we are a friendly and welcoming church, and we hope that you will find that to be true.

As Christ’s Church set in the middle of the parish we seek to serve, we are working out how to love God and love our neighbours as we love ourselves – please come and join us on the journey!

Everyone is welcome to our Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday at 7pm. It marks the start of Lent, a time of preparing our hearts and minds as we approach the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus at Easter. Ash Wednesday is where we seek forgiveness for when we have fallen short of who we should be, and align our hearts with the way of Jesus. The ash, which is marked on our forehead or hands is a symbol of this.

We joined the Climate Coalition's national campaign to highlight what we love about Heartsease and want to protect against climate change and to improve our natural environment.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Heartsease: St Francis is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm.

We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Norwich’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO (click the "more info" button below).

If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO: James (Huggy) Knott or deputy Ian Jones on 07769427457, or the Diocesan Safeguarding Team at: [email protected] 01603 882345.
