About Us

We are a church at the heart of the community with the community at its heart! A friendly and welcoming church family, we're working out how to love God and love our neighbours as we love ourselves. Our church is on Rider Haggard Road, just a short walk from both Heartsease Primary Academy and Open Academy.

We would love to welcome you to any of our services and to the various events and community projects that are based at St Francis - take a look at the services and events page.

Worship

On Sunday our main service is at 10.30am; join us in church for Holy Communion.
On Monday evening we have our Prayer & Praise gathering at 7.00pm which is an informal time of prayer for our local community.
On Thursday at 9.00am there is a service of Morning Prayer (Book of Common Prayer).

Eco Church

We have achieved the A Rocha Eco Church Bronze award in recognition of our journey to care for Creation through our building, land, lifestyles, worship & teaching, and global & community engagement, and are now working towards our Silver. On St Francis day 2021 we declared a climate emergency  We also have both our Let it Grow and Bike Kitchen projects and regularly hold Wild Church events to enable families to undertake fun activities in our outdoor space.

Children & families

Children are welcome at all our services and events (with their adults!). We have toys to play with, and occasional "Messy Church" and "Wild Church" services - keep an eye on our calendar and Facebook page for details of these. We also have a "Stay & Play" parent & toddler group every Monday at 9:30am (term-time).
