Barn Dance

Occurring
for 3 hours, 30 mins
Venue
Chapel Barn at Tuell Farm
Address

The Community Barn Dance is this Saturday at the wonderful Chapel Barn at Tuell. Doors open at 6:60 and dancing start at 7pm. Red Shed will be playing for us again with their mix of traditional English and Irish dance tunes, whilst their excellent caller guides us through the intricacies of each dance. You never know, we might even get “Stripping The Willow” right this year! As well as the dancing and music there is a full licenced bar selling much needed beer, wine, cider, soft drinks and a few crisps etc. to keep you refreshed. If you feel inclined to come appropriately attired, then there will be a prize for the best dressed dancer too. Profits from the dance will go to swell St Mary’s “Heating & Seating” fund – we need to raise a further £3000 to complete the project to make St Mary’s a warm, comfortable, and welcoming space for our all community.
Contact John Hearn ([email protected]) or Peter Hurdwell ([email protected]) for tickets.

Milton Abbot Parish Church of St Constantine and St Aegidius

The regular services at Milton Abbot Parish Church are Sunday Praise at 10am on the second Sunday of each month, and Holy Communion at 11am on the fourth Sunday of each month.  All are welcome - you can just turn up.  Please feel free to contact Reverend Gill (07947 604160) or Churchwarden Liz (01822 870642) with any questions you might have about church.

The South Tamar Mission Community is a group of 4 Church of England parishes with 6 historic church buildings. You can find us in the rolling farmland of the Tamar Valley AONB, broadly between the River Tamar and the River Lyd. We have 2 primary schools in the area, and our schools volunteers also work in another on our borders. All our volunteers have DBS checks and undergo regular safeguarding training. We also have a strong pastoral team who work with people in local residential care settings, and trained Anna Chaplains specialising in spiritual support for the older age range. As well as a strong team of volunteers, we have a full time vicar - Priest-in-Charge, Reverend Gill George. She is supported by our Local Lay Minister, Richard Searight, and a retired priest, Revd Canon Tim Thompson.

Find us at South Tamar Mission Community on facebook, or the website http://www.southtamar.church/

Safeguarding

Our Parishes are committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and each parish has an assigned Safeguarding Representative who can be contacted about any issues or concerns regarding safeguarding and the church. Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages also contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises the Parish Safeguarding Representatives. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact Julie Hibbert the lead Safeguarding Representative for the benefice on 01822 618221 or email [email protected]. You can also contact the Safeguarding Representative for each parish. IF YOU ARE AWARE OF AN IMMINENT RISK OF HARM TO AN INDIVIDUAL, PLEASE CONTACT THE POLICE ON 999.
