At the heart of our parish life is a commitment to care for one another, for our wider community, and for those navigating illness, isolation, or times of need.
Our Pastoral Team offers thoughtful, prayerful support to church members and anyone living in the parish. This includes:
• Visiting those who are sick, housebound, or in hospital
• Bringing Holy Communion to those unable to attend church
• Offering a listening ear, gentle conversation, and prayerful presence
Whether it’s a quiet visit, a shared prayer, or simply being alongside someone in a difficult moment, our team seeks to embody Christ’s love in practical ways.
The team meets regularly and includes members of the Ministry Team, Lay Pastoral Assistants (LPAs), and representatives from both St Edmund’s and All Saints churches. Our LPAs are specially trained to offer pastoral support, and bring compassion, confidentiality, and care to every encounter.
If you or someone you know would welcome a visit or support, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Our Pastoral Care Coordinator is Lorraine Ovenden, and you can contact her via the who’s who page.
