Winterborne Zelston: St Mary

We are a very small but  welcoming church community and have a monthly service. We celebrate Holy Communion (generally alternate months) and also the very popular Songs of Praise and other more informal services. We are celebrating Carers week in June, Harvest in September, and always enjoy our Mothering Sunday and Remembrance Sunday services too.

We enjoy having a social chat afterthe service over a cuppa or something more celebratory, and always with delicious homemade nibbles / biscuits.

We have our annual fundraising Duck Race on Easter Saturday, always good fun and drawing quite a large crowd to spur on the ducks, and then enjoy the wonderful homemade cakes. There are a few other fundraising events during the year.

Our village is a beautiful well kept place, with a wonderful bluebell wood at the top of the road, a local pub, a beautiful stream running through, just a tranquil place to ponder the wonder of God.

Safeguarding

"Our parish of Winterborne Zelston with Tomson & Anderson: St Mary's is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO) and Benefice Safeguarding Officer. Our Diocese of Salisbury’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our BSO and PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO Caroline Pugh on 07984 828642 or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor - [email protected] to speak to a caseworker or Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor regarding safeguarding concerns or ongoing cases. Or 01722 438651 and press option 2. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."
