Memorial Service

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
Settle: Holy Ascension
Address
Church Street Settle, BD24 9JA, United Kingdom

The annual Memorial Service is a short service of hymns, readings and prayers and where the names of all those known to us who have died during the preceding 12 months are remembered. We do this by reading out their names and giving relatives the opportunity of lighting a candle in their memory.

Following on from the service we invite people to stay and join us for refreshments as some people welcome this opportunity to share precious memories of their loved ones. We know from past experience that those who come to this service find it to be a real source of comfort.

Settle: Holy Ascension

We are an active church reaching out to the community with regular services, groups and events.  A place for everyone with Christ at the centre.  Find out more about us on our page.  Welcome!

Safeguarding

"Our parish of Settle: Holy Ascension is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Leeds’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO https://castlebergchurches.uk/safeguarding/ or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor https://www.leeds.anglican.org/who-we-are/safeguarding2/

If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."
