A congregation of all ages enjoyed a great time our Pet Service on the 31st August. We heard the wonderful story of Balaam's Donkey from the Book of Numbers (Ch 22 vs 21 to 31). Revd. Natalie led the worship and Revd.Tony introduced us to a range of talking animals from the Bible including a sibilant snake, a wandering dove, a slightly pompous whale, a cheerful sparrow, a lost sheep and a self-conscious donkey. Afterwards each one of the pets was individually blessed. Everyone did well in the service and there was some excellent accompaniment to the hymns from some of the gathered quadrupeds. The post-service tea, coffee and biscuits in the Church Hall were also supplemented by doggy treats. It was a great way to celebrate God's good creation and the gift of animals in our lives.
