West Grimstead: St Johns Church

St. John’s is well over 700 years old with a beautiful new stained glass window that was commissioned and installed in December 1996 and dedicated at the village carol service that year. It is called The Tree of Life and can be seen in the south east aisle of the church.

You'll receive a warm welcome at any of our services or events and visiting at other times can always be arranged with our Church Wardens Liz and Graham.

In Edward Hutton’s “Highways and Byways of Wiltshire” (1917) we find the words ‘At West Grimstead there is a little old church, very reverent and homely and still. The whole humble building is worth a close and loving inspection, and is a delight on a lonely road’.

Safeguarding

St John's is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Salisbury’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
