This is a set of 5 electromagnetically operated chiming hammers, one against each bell and connected to a control box in the ringing chamber. At a press of a button, we can have a vast range of options including pealing bells, a calling bell and a funeral bell. The bells can still be rung by the ringers but in the future, it means that if we are unable to ring, the bells, which are such an integral part of the community, will always be heard.
St Peter’s celebrated the Coronation with a lovely service led by the Rev Ryder Rogers on Sunday the 7th May followed by ‘ Pimms and Planes ‘ . The Church was beautifully decorated with a knitted King and Queen displayed on the Balcony in the windowsill. People were invited to make a paper plane and fly it down the aisle past their Majesties in a ‘ Fly Past ‘ ! Prize for the furthest plane flown ! We toasted them with Pimms and ate savoury nibbles . Huge success with many people attending the service and the ‘ Fly Past ‘ after . In the afternoon there was a boat race of home made boats down the stream followed by tea and cake in a local garden ,
