This year, the Church of England’s Advent and Christmas theme is “Joy”, focussing on the good news of Jesus’ birth and the deep, lasting joy that it brings.

Reflections on how the joy of Christmas speaks into our lives today

Step into Christmas with Midnight Communion on Christmas Eve at 11:00pm at St Francis Church, Galahad Avenue, Strood.

This year, the Church of England invites us to focus on JOY—the deep, lasting joy that comes as we celebrate Jesus’ birth. In a calm, candlelit service we’ll sing carols, hear the Christmas Gospel, and share in Holy Communion, welcoming Christ into our hearts and homes.

Wake up to Christmas with Family Communion on Christmas Day at 10:00am at St Francis Church, Galahad Avenue, Strood.

This year the Church of England invites us to focus on JOY—“good news of great joy for all people” (Luke 2:10). We’ll sing carols, hear the Christmas Gospel, share a short all-age reflection, and receive Holy Communion together. Children are especially welcome—come as you are (Christmas jumpers encouraged!).
