Nestling under the ancient hangings is the pretty Parish of Clyffe Pypard. We are a busy, mainly rural community of about 300, spread between the four residential areas, separated from each other by areas of farmland.
St Peter’s Church is situated in Clyffe Pypard. It is a Grade One listed building, much loved and well-maintained by the community, but we know that we will soon have to carry out repair work on the tower. Inside there is a magnificent monument in memory of the benefactor Thomas Spackman and in the well-maintained graveyard is the chosen resting place of the historian Nikolaus Pevsner and that of his wife.
