Oxton St Saviour is a large, diverse, friendly, and growing community of faith, set in a largely suburban area in the Wirral Peninsula.
Large and diverse: Across our range of congregations, we have a worshipping community of more than 500 people including over 100 children. Within this, we offer both large services with lots of people present and quieter services for just a few. Our congregations include people who have been committed Christians for many years, and people who are new to Christian faith.
Friendly: One of the hallmarks of St Saviour’s is its community spirit, and its friendly, supportive, easy going, yet dynamic environment.
Growing: On average one new family joins us each week, and this means that we have grown as a community over the past decade. We offer a variety of settings in which our diverse congregations can continue to grow in their faith and discipleship.
Community of faith: Our worshipping life combines a love for the Sacraments and for the Scriptures. Preaching and choral music both have an important part in our worship, and our principal act of worship most Sundays is the Eucharist. In addition, we offer a variety of opportunities for less formal worship.
On most Sunday mornings, we offer a wide choice of ways to worship - quiet services with traditional prayers, choral services with elegant liturgy, and interactive worship for preschool children and their parents and for primary school age children. In addition, once a month, we offer a Cafe Church (on a Sunday morning) and a Messy Church (on a Wednesday afternoon).
We have a range of groups, which offer opportunities to make friends, to grow in faith, or to make a difference in the lives of others. These include groups for retired people, working age men and women, teenagers, and children.
At St Saviour's, we offer a warm welcome and a wide choice of ways to worship, get involved and make a difference.
