Cost of Whitwick church repairs nearly triples
Masonry repairs, originally estimated to cost just over £9000 recently started on the east gable wall of St John the Baptist Church, Whitwick, a Grade II 2* listed building. Once scaffolding provided access to the top of the wall and repair work commenced, the deterioration of the masonry was found to be much worse that expected. As a result, an additional £16,000 needs to be raised.
