St. Mark's

We are in Barrow's town centre, the parish includes around 1,800 homes along with half of the town centre shops and offices. It is predominantly a working class parish with a wide mix of ages.

Built in 1878 to serve the expanding population of the town, St. Mark’s remains focused on declaring the love of God for all and seeking ways in which this truth can be received and realised by those in our community.

The parish of Barrow-in-Furness: St Mark is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Carlisle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
