About Us

'Beacon Trinity' benefice was formed in 2018/19 and brought together the parish churches of Oakhill, Ashwick and Binegar. Then in 2024 we began the process of pastoral reorganisation in order to create the 'East Mendip Hills' benefice, which also encompassed churches in Chewton Mendip with Emborough, Litton and Ston Easton. 

The new benefice is still in the process of becoming 'official' but comprises of six churches in regular use and one other church (Emborough) which is looked after by the 'Churches Conservation Trust' and which is occasionally used for special events (e.g.carols by candlelight). 

The (soon to be) 'East Mendip Hills' benefice lies towards the eastern end of the Mendip Hills and is surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
