The Benefice of Stoke St Michael with Leigh on Mendip and Downhead
The Churches of St Michael and All Angels in Stoke St Michael, St Giles in Leigh on Mendip and All Saints in Downhead make up this Benefice.
We are three small rural churches deep within the Mendip Hills, and a stones throw from the towns of Frome, Midsomer Norton, Wells and Shepton Mallet. We are connected to neighbouring churches of the Postlebury Group. Services take place amongst the churches on a rota basis.
Reverend Keith Johnson has recently become the Priest in Charge of the churches of the Benefice. We are also supported by a variety of vicars from neighbouring parishes and retired clergy to help u.
Reverend Johnson is supported by Claire our Parish Administrator- on 07404 824355 (although please note that she works part time hours and her phone may not be checked for messages between her working hours)
