St Michael and All Angels, Stoke St. Michael
Welcome to the Parish Church of St Michael and All Angels, in Stoke St Michael.
We are a rural church in the middle of Somerset, and are connected to neighbouring churches of Leigh-on-Mendip, Downhead and the Postlebury Group.
Our Parish Priest, Revd Anthony Dickson, oversees all 8 churches, and services take place on a rota basis.
We are a small congregation, but friendly and enthusiastic. Visitors to our services and other events are warmly welcomed.
As regulations begin to move on with the Coronavirus restrictions we are pleased that we are able to meet in church for services (following all the usual government guidance for hands-face-space). Please see "Coronavirus " section of the website for details of how we are keeping you safe when you visit church; and the “Services and events” section of website for full details of services. For monthly services in our 2 Benefices click here.
The church continues to be open every day, 10am to 4pm, for individual private prayer. We pray you will find peace and God’s love there when you visit.
Please contact Revd Anthony Dickson directly for details about Funerals and Weddings
If you have specific prayers for yourself or family or friends please do get in touch with us, and members of the church community will be happy to pray for you.
A prayer for these times-
Lord Jesus Christ,
you taught us to love our neighbour,
and to care for those in need
as if we were caring for you.
In this time of anxiety, give us strength
to comfort the fearful, to tend the sick,
and to assure the isolated
of our love, and your love,
for your name’s sake.
