St Leonard’s, Walton‑le‑Dale, is one of Lancashire’s oldest churches — a place of daily quiet, prayer, and welcome. Open every day, the church offers space for reflection and stillness in the midst of busy modern life.
Our Purpose
The Friends of St Leonard’s support the care, restoration, and long‑term preservation of our historic stained‑glass windows. These windows are a treasured part of the church’s heritage, and we are committed to safeguarding them for future generations.
FOCSL is led by our President, Dr David Hunt, with a small committee who organise events throughout the year. Anyone who enjoys these events or wishes to support the church’s heritage is warmly invited to become a Friend.
Events & Community
Our programme brings people together for enjoyable, affordable community events. Each year we host:
St Patrick’s Night (March)
Spring Concert (April)
Summer Play (May)
Walks and Talks (June & July)
Lancashire Heritage Week participation (September)
Dean Taylor Productions Play (October)
Lancashire Neet (November)
Christmas Concert (December)
Although these events raise funds for the windows, their heart is community involvement, hospitality, and shared enjoyment. Costs are kept low, and refreshments are always plentiful and delicious.
