The Parish of Hodder Valley

The newly created Parish of Hodder Valley comprises the former parishes of Whitewell and Slaidburn with Tosside making it the largest parish, in area, in England. There are two parish churches - Saint Andrew at Slaidburn and Saint Michael at Whitewell - and two chapels of ease at Saint Bartholomew, Tosside, and Saint James, Dalehead.

There is at least one service every Sunday in the parish. Please look at the individual church sites for details and times of their services.

As part of the Diocese of Blackburn' s Centenary Mission Weekend the Parish is organising a "Songs of Praise" style event known as "Hymns and Pimms." Parishioners are invited to choose their favourite hymn, chorus or worship song (request slips in each church, and you can chose more than one) and the most popular will be chosen to sing during the afternoon. After a good sing you are invited to join us for a refreshing glass of Pimms!

Safeguarding

"Our Parish is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO, Margaret Brenchley - 01729 840690, or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."
