HRR Churches

Welcome to the parishes of St. Thomas Hullbridge, St. Nicholas Rawreth and All Saints' Rettendon.

Our three churches work closely together and hold worship every Sunday. We seek to grow in faith and to reach out to our local communities, showing God's love for all. Our congregations are friendly, inclusive and welcoming. Families and young children are warmly welcome.

We live-stream most of our prayer and worship in our Facebook Group. For up to date information and further details please join our Facebook Group or sign up for our newsletter.

Our worship

Our churches are in the inclusive, modern Catholic tradition. We hold a service in each church every Sunday Morning: 9.30 a.m. at St. Thomas, Hullbridge, 10.00 a.m. at St. Nicholas, Rawreth, and 11.15 a.m. at All Saints' Rettendon. Our regular service is the Parish Eucharist, but once a month each church has a less formal, lay-led service of Morning Worship (usually the first Sunday at Rawreth and third Sunday at Hullbridge and Rettendon). Morning worship at Hullbridge and/or Rawreth is usually livestreamed via our Facebook group.

Your special events

Church can be a wonderful place to mark the special times in our lives, the birth of a child, a relationship that has grown into a deep commitment or a bereavement of someone we love. If you live in our parishes or have another connection to our churches your child could be baptised, you could be married or you could have a funeral for your loved one.

But there may be other events that we could help you to celebrate, perhaps a significant wedding anniversary.

Contacting us

Our parishes are without a full-time parish priest at present, so please be patient as we seek to respond to the needs of our parishes with a reduced team. This website is primarily static content to enable you to contact us. Please email or phone for details of current events and activities. Up-to-date news of events and services can be found in our Facebook group.

Safeguarding

Our Parish is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officers (PSO). Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO [please see our individual church pages for contact details for our PSO] or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor [www.chelmsford.anglican.org/safeguarding-landing]. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
