Rural Daneside Churches

The United Benefice of Marton, Siddington with Capesthorne, Eaton with Hulme Walfield and Swettenham is known as the Rural Daneside Churches.

Situated to the north of Congleton and its River Dane, in east Cheshire, the churches all have very individual characters. Some are based in traditional farming areas and others include new estates where many of the houses have been purchased by people who have recently moved into the parishes.

Whichever church you choose to come to, be sure that there will be a warm welcome.

Our churches

Safeguarding

Our parishes are committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officers (PSO).
The Chester Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the relevant church PSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor.
The contact details for each PSO can be found on the individual church website.
The Deputy Diocesan Vulnerability and Safeguarding Officer is Sean Augustin. Within our diocese, Sean is the person to contact if you have any concerns or issues to discuss, or if you wish to come forward with any safeguarding information. This includes concerns that a child or adult has been harmed or is at risk of harm.

If a child or adult is at immediate risk of significant harm, or you require out of hours advice, then you should contact your local social services team or local police (call 101). You should then inform Sean.
