Rural Daneside Churches

The United Benefice of Marton, Siddington with Capesthorne, Eaton with Hulme Walfield and Swettenham is known as the Rural Daneside Churches. 

Situated to the north of Congleton and its River Dane, in east Cheshire, the churches all have very individual characters. Some are based in traditional farming areas and others include new estates where many of the houses have been purchased by people who have recently moved into the parishes. 

Whichever church you choose to come to, be sure that there will be a warm welcome.

Holy Communion

Central to worship in our church is the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, also called the Holy Communion, or the Lord's Supper. In this offering of prayer and praise, the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are remembered and celebrated.

This is a service of prayers, thanksgiving and hymn-singing, welcoming all members of the community. Today, the service will be held at St Peter's, Swettenham, and we will be joined by members of the congregation of St Michael's Church, Hulme Walfield.

The Deputy Diocesan Vulnerability and Safeguarding Officer is Sean Augustin. Within our diocese, Sean is the person to contact if you have any concerns or issues to discuss, or if you wish to come forward with any safeguarding information. This includes concerns that a child or adult has been harmed or is at risk of harm.
