The Parish of Laughton, Ripe and Chalvington

Set where the Weald meets the South Downs, you will find our beautiful, recently joined parish of All Saints' Laughton, St. John the Baptist, Ripe and St. Bartholomew, Chalvington.

Some people come to our churches to worship, some enjoy a secular but still spiritual connection with these ancient buildings, whilst others are fascinated by the beauty and rich history of the parish and its churches.

We encourage anybody to join us who might want to explore the Christian faith or simply be looking to be part of our community. Everyone is welcome to the events which we organise and to join us in being the current custodians of these historic buildings.

The church buildings are open for a visit and contemplation every day.

Safeguarding

Our parish takes safeguarding extremely seriously and is fully committed to ensuring that our church is a safe and welcoming place for everyone. We have an appointed Parish Safeguarding Officer, Sam Brown, who oversees safeguarding within the parish and helps ensure that best practice is always followed.

Sam also keeps the PCC regularly informed of any updates to safeguarding legislation and guidance so that we remain fully compliant and attentive to the safety and wellbeing of all. If anyone has questions, concerns, or would simply like to talk about safeguarding, they are warmly encouraged to get in touch with Sam for a confidential and supportive conversation.

Sam Brown worked for many years as a Head of Department at a local prep school here in East Sussex, and has an in-depth knowledge and personal experience of safeguarding responsibilities.

If you have a question you would like to ask Sam relating to the safeguarding or the wellbeing of somebody you are concerned about within our parish, please feel welcome to send her an email at:
