The Parish of Rotherfield with Mark Cross

The Parish of Rotherfield with Mark Cross was formed in January 2025, with the joining of the separate parishes of St Denys', Rotherfield and St Mark's, Mark Cross, which had previously been in a joint benefice. 

We are an open, inclusive, evangelical parish.  We are currently in interregnum, but continue to offer a regular pattern of services, which is a mixture of both modern and traditional.   We offer a warm welcome to all and aim to provide a variety of services for families and for our more senior congregants.

BCP Communion

Monthly. Every Third Wednesday at for 45 mins
St Denys'
Church Road Rotherfield Crowborough, TN6 3LG, United Kingdom

This is a quiet and peaceful service. It is a said service from the Book of Common Prayer and includes the Ten Commandments and set prayers of intercession. There is a 5 minute homily and the service lasts around 40 minutes.

A fun and child-focused act of fellowship, suitable for small children and families. Includes breakfast, a story, craft and songs.

Parish Communion

Monthly. Every Fourth Sunday at for 1 hour, 10 mins
St Mark's
Tunbridge Wells Rd/Wadhurst Rd Mark Cross Tunbridge Wells, TN6 3PU, United Kingdom

This is the main Sunday service for the Parish and follows the service of Holy Communion from Common Worship. It has traditional hymns and the church's own setting of the eucharistic music, all of which is accompanied by the organ. The Sermons are Bible based and last around 10-15 minutes. Intercessions and readings are undertaken by members of the congregation. Children attend the beginning of the service and then leave for Sunday School. They usually return in time to receive a blessing and contribute to the notices by sharing what they have learnt.

The parish is currently in interregnum, so this service is occasionally replaced by a service of Matins. Please check our notice-sheet for the latest information.
