As fundraising continues for the 3Cs Project (Community, Cuppas and Convenience) to build a servery and WC in the church, we are thrilled to have recently been awarded two significant grants towards the work. We would like to thank the National Churches Trust and the Headley Trust for their award of £19,480, announced at the beginning of last month. Later in September we were also thrilled to hear of an award of £18,000 from the Benefact Trust. We are very grateful for these two grants, which bring us ever closer to our appeal target. Rev’d Canon Dr Nicola McNally says “We are convinced that building a growing and thriving church community is the best way of ensuring our wonderful medieval church is well maintained and survives to serve future generations. We believe passionately that, as in so many areas of life, to grow and progress you need to change and adapt. Nothing stands still in a constantly changing world – not even how we use our beautiful churches, nor how we serve and support our local communities. The 3Cs project is an important part of our response to change. We are so grateful and encouraged that the National Churches Trust and the Benefact Trust are supporting this vision and making it a reality.”Photo of model by Paul Middleton showing the proposed servery area
