Everyone is warmly invited to join the Six Fen Churches Benefice as we mark the most important time in the Christian calendar with a series of services and events across our churches.
From Maundy Thursday through to Easter Sunday, there are a variety of opportunities to gather together in reflection, worship and celebration as we remember the events of Holy Week and rejoice in the resurrection of Jesus.
Maundy Thursday – 2 April
The Easter journey begins with a Maundy Thursday Agape Meal at 6:30pm in the Church Rooms, Doddington. This shared meal recalls the Last Supper that Jesus shared with his disciples and is a meaningful way to begin the Easter story together.
Good Friday – 3 April
On Good Friday there are two services taking place at 2:00pm, marking the traditional hour of remembrance for the crucifixion of Jesus.
Stations of the Cross at Christchurch
An Hour at the Cross at Wimblington
Both services offer time for prayer, reflection and contemplation on the sacrifice at the heart of the Easter story.
Easter Saturday – 4 April
Families and children are especially welcome to join Wild Church and the Easter Trail at 10:30am at Manea Pit. This outdoor gathering celebrates creation and the hope of Easter through activities and exploration.
Easter Sunday – 5 April
Easter Day brings joyful celebration across the benefice with several services:
9:30am – Breakfast Church, Wimblington
10:30am – Holy Communion, Doddington
10:30am – Holy Communion, Christchurch
3:00pm – Holy Communion, Welney
These services celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the hope that Easter brings.
All are very welcome to attend any of these services as we celebrate Easter together across the Six Fen Churches Benefice.
