Welcome to our first season of "Give what you
can" concerts supporting the parish churches of
St Mary the Virgin, Shipton-under-Wychwood
and St Simon and St Jude, Milton-under
Wychwood.
Our beautiful buildings not only reflect the
heritage of our villages but the history of our
country. Built to the glory of God, these
magnificent places of worship have been spaces
for community and hospitality for centuries. They
now rely on the general public to keep them in
good shape as we receive no national funding.
Music is a diverse but universal language that
unites people across all divides. It has been
shown to touch people with dementia, soothe
those in distress and provide connection in
sports stadiums and places of worship alike,
spanning all generations around the world. What
better place to enjoy the rich variety of music
than these beautiful spaces.
Shipton and Milton Churches warmly thank their
sponsor, Young Artists’ Platform, for making
these concerts possible and for supporting
musical talent in our community. We are also
grateful to our musicians and supporters, whose
generosity helps keep our churches open to
visitors and worshippers alike.
Please feel free to visit us again or join us for
worship.
We hope this programme will provide something
for everyone. Please give generously and spread
the word.
First Concert: The Sage String Quartet: Sunday 26 April 4pm in St Simon & St Jude Church, Milton under Wychwood. See attached leaflet for full details.
