Astwick Vale Benefice

Astwick Vale Benefice, which consists of the parishes and churches of Aynho, Croughton, Evenley, Farthinghoe, and Hinton-in-the-Hedges with Steane, is situated at the most southerly end of the Peterborough Diocese within the Brackley Deanery.

Each of the churches making up the Benefice has its own distinctive character and traditions, which we respect and for which we are thankful. We do, however, share our gifts and actively support one another. All of the churches are relatively close together – within a 5-mile triangle.

God has created the whole universe, and we can see the mark of our creator in everything that he has made. We are the gathered people in this part of creation, who are called to come together in joy, in sorrow, and in support to live the life that God has asked us in this place that he has made.

The annual Ride and Stride day to raise money for our parish and Northamptonshire Historic Churches.
Sponsored travellers walk, cycle, ride, or in any way transport themselves between the churches of Northamptonshire, signing in at each church they reach, and being welcomed with refreshments, in order to raise money.
A great way to enjoy our churches and our countryside.

Safeguarding

We take safeguarding very seriously and we committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Peterborough’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
