About Us
Are you looking for churches in West Wight? Maybe you're here on holiday. Maybe you've recently moved in and want to find a church community to belong to. Maybe you've lived here for years but feel that you'd like to know more about the church communities on your doorstep.
The West Wight Benefice is made up of the church communities of Freshwater, Yarmouth, Totland Bay, Brighstone, Mottistone, Brook, Shorwell, Calbourne, Newtown, Shalfleet and Thorley on the beautiful West Wight. This page provides a link to all the church pages in A Church Near You.
Whilst our benefice churches work together in many ways each church is valued in it's own right as a local parish church, serving within the local community.
The churches are welcoming of new people and within the benefice you'll find traditional styles of worship, opportunities to gather away from regular Sunday services maybe through contemplative prayer or Celtic style worship. Three or four times a year, on a fifth Sunday, you'll find a whole benefice songs of praise and special services for the church festivals of Easter, Pentecost, Harvest, Remembrance, Advent and Christmas.
Whether you are already a 'church person' or you want to find out more about following Jesus, living in faith and hope or you simply want to find a community that is welcoming and is there for the community it sits in, check out the churches in West Wight.
